CinaOggi
www.cinaoggi.it and www. China-underground.com are two web portals about China in Italian and English. Our aim is to offer a broad view of all aspects of this huge country: job opportunities, business, history and geography, literature, philosophy, art, cinema, travel, culture, traditions and cultural events. In addition, we provide useful links and information to those who want to get in touch with institutions, foundations, embassies, consulates, chambers of commerce, museums and organizations which work in China and with China. Our goal is to spread Chinese culture in Italy and in Europe, and at the same time Italian culture in China, so that we establish a virtual bridge between these two realities. China has attracted foreign attention mainly for its rapid rate of development. Because of its geographical distance China is still a country to discover. A deep knowledge of Chinese culture is very important in order to create productive economical connections. In addition, in recent years, Chinese culture has achieved a significant position in the worldwide cultural scenario. Without doubt, a mutual interest can bring great benefits to both sides.

Abelvideo
Abelvideo was born out of the meeting of a sinologist and a videoartist. In the last five years, in order to deepen different types of video communication, they worked on documentary – both
historical and institutional – and lightshows for the Japanese musician Makoto Kawabata (Acid Mothers Temple, Gong) and the Italian band Jennifer Gentle. For Jennifer Gentle (first Italian band to sign a contract with SubPop, the label of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Rapture and Afghan
Whigs) they worked on three videoclips, shown in many festivals and airedon several international networks. In 2005 abelvideo moved to Kunming, China and merged with Microfilm Production.
CinaOggi and Abelvideo organize this edition of BigScreen Festival with the collaboration of Lijiang Studio.
Lijiang Studio is a studio and residency program that facilitates creative collaboration between visiting and local artists in the area of Lijiang, in China’s Yunnan Province. Webbed by clearflowing canals and situated in the easternmost folds of the Himalayas, the old stone city of Lijiang is a vital and inspiring center that has brought together the region’s diverse populations for centuries. Lijiang Studio builds on the city’s legacy as a cultural crossroads-and also responds to current development and tourism-to stimulate valuable exchange and artistic production in the 21st century.
